Why can't a category be removed or deleted, but only set inactive?

Removing, deleting or setting a category as inactive is the same action within the app. Fully removing or deleting isn't allowed as it could create reporting problems with previous activities containing the category. To avoid data loss it isn't possible to fully delete or remove. By setting a category as inactive the category can be prevented to be used in the future.

How to set a category inactive

When a category no longer is needed an administrator can set a category inactive. Avoiding it to be used in future time writing activities.

How to set a category active

If a category was inactive and has to be made active again, you have to manually search for the category, as it is removed from the active list, it will only be shown when actively searched for. Then the category can be set active again by an administrator
